Can't talk...playing Fallout...

Friday, the 26th of September

During my lunch today I wandered around the city and found a game store that sells really great discount titles...Not just left over bargain bin stuff, but a slew of re-released classics...Evidently they have a ton of these in the UK, and I left wondering why in the heck we don't have them in the States. I know I would pick these up in a second...and did...I ended up getting Fallout 2, Dungeon Keeper 2, and Sim City 3000 for 10 GBP, which is around $16.50 US... pretty nice for three great games...

Thursday, the 25th of September

I shipped 7 Boxes overseas with most of my stuff in them, and they arrived yesterday, so I spent today unloading them and putting stuff away. I also took 5 hours and built my new computer (I had shipped the parts along with everything else)...Here's the geek part 2.8Ghz P4 800mhz FSB, 180GB 7200rpm Western Digital Hard Drive, Radeon 9800, 1024MB PC3200 RAM, NEC 19" Flat Screen CRT...I'm liking it...

Wednesday, the 24th of September

Had a social meeting in the office of the Medieval Chair, man do they have nice offices here... His office is easily three times the size of my room, and twice the size of any proffessor's office I ever saw in the States...Social get-togethers seem important over here, an interesting change from my previous collge, which was very "all-business"...We all went down the pub afterwards (pints are soooo cheap here, even with the exchange rate), and I ended up having a 4 hour or so conversation with someone on the nature of existance...not bad for a Wednesday night

Monday, the 22nd of September

Started my Pre-term Latin course today, and in the early going it is easy...I've done more Latin than most in the class, but it's been two years since I used it extensively so once we get into the harder stuff I'm sure I'll have as many problems as everyone else...

Sunday, the 21st of September

I'm finally setting in, and actually went shopping today (can't afford to live on pub food...Found a small market and a chip shop (I assume everyone knows, but American french fries are "chips" in Britain, and American chips are "crisps") so I have junk food to live on...On the junk food note, they have Doritos™ here...I absolutely love Doritos, and though the flavors are a little different here, they're still good, and they're still Doritos...
