I think that I have finally figured out why I write: I write because I do not yet know who I am. I used to believe that I wrote because I desired to be understood. Now I know that I write because I desire to understand. Every word that I write is a plea, echoing across the distance between the hands that type and the eyes that read: "Define me, because I cannot define myself."
