Bio
A professional History student, I started this site because there wasn't enough useless crap on the internet, and I wanted to make a difference. As my profession obviously reveals, I am indeed a geek and have been gaming for 15 odd years now. As a counter to my geekdom, I am also an avid athlete, playing baseball (I love everything about the sport), tennis, and rugby, and looking to get into climbing. I am also a musician (in fact, I consider "musician" as much part of my identity as "historian"), playing bass guitar, guitar, trumpet, and currently learning piano and hand percussion (bongos). My CD collection numbers well over 400, which speaks to both my love of music and my utter lack of spending control (in an attempt to better that, I have purchased only 10 or so albums in the past two years (only really good ones ;), which really says something about the size of the collection)
Born and raised in the Detroit Michigan suburbs, I did my Undergraduate work at Wayne State University, and I am currently spending a year at Exeter College at Oxford University to complete my master's degree in Medieval History. My hope after that is to finish my Ph.D. at UCLA. I enjoy sunsets and long walks on the beach...
In the digital realm, I began writing at PlanetDeusEx, authoring the Path to Illumination articles featured here, and also wrote some posts at Force Monkeys, a now defunct web comic authored and illustrated by Kaigen and Ghandaiah...I never got the hang of actually writing the comics though...some of the stuff I suggested was really bad...seriously...I'm only writing to my (alledged) strengths here...
